Lidio Cipriani (1892-1962), was the assistant at the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnology at Florence from 1923 through the beginning of WWII. In 1927 he embarked on the first of several long trips to Africa, an expedition to South Africa and Rhodesia where he conducted geological studies for the Museum and took these photographs.
